From below remove the two black headed philips screws under the fog light location pull the black plastic inner fender liner toward the tire. Watch for the two spring screw clips they may fall off put them back on. now you can see the back of the fog light assembly either the bulb is visiable or the black plastic cover needs to be turned to the left then remove the bulb. do not touch the glass of the new bulb. Skin oils will shorten the life of the new bulb.

I cannot imagine that four bulbs could be out in this thing and nobody bothered to change them so I figure it may be something deeper, also the high beam indicator on the switch does not come on when I pull it so I wonder if the switch would cause it or if it would be something else. If this switch is bad then it may cause both systems to not work. The multi function switch is the turn signal handle on the left side of the steering wheel. Be careful messing with it yourself because if you have to remove the steering wheel you may set off the air bag. It aint pretty when one goes off in your face, not to mention the damage and expense it costs. have a pro do it

The flasher unit is located under the dash near the steering column. The turn signal flasher is circular . When i comes to the instrument panel being dim. There is multiple light bulbs in the panel. Remove the trim around the panel and then remove the screws holding the panel in. disconnect cannon plugs. Then you see the socket holding the bulbs in. !/4 turn counter clockwise and then remove , install new bulb and reinstall .Comes to the tranny have it power flushed it solves allot of problems. Headlight your local autoparts has what you need

the flasher unit is gunna be under the hood and a big black or gray unit.... the bulbs are really easy to get at autozone but a pain to have to put in most likely the whole dash has to come out to pt them in,,, the headlight issues would be better to replace them once they get water soaked or fog up the only way is to put some glue between the two surfaces.... less trouble to buy a set at a junk yard of not looking to pay brandnew prices....the tranny i would have to leave that to someone else that knows more about them... but to say id say that the pulling is deff torque steer and the tranny may need to be rebuilt... gud luck with that pontiac.....

Cuts holes in the lower bumper and wire the lights or buy a bumper with the Fog light implants in them and put them in. Either way you will have to wire the Fog lights.

hey, i got a fiat bravo and the front left fog light doesnt work, the right one and rear ones work fine...ive changed the bulb from halfords they said it isnt the bulb...ive even checked the fuses...still not working does anyone know if it could be an electical fault? if it is...does anyone have any ideas on how 2 fix it? thanks

If you have 12v's getting to the bulb but no light then you have a bad earth.
If no 12v at bulb then trace it back to thru the loom to the relay/fusebox. I'd bet its a broken wire or bad connection.

Now, i m looking for a new one. But i have a question about that. Can i use other H11 bulb lights such as those with 5000k, 7500k, 8000k and 8500k?

it depnds if you got just a normal bulb or a HID setup in the fog. Most normal bulbs will burn out because the how the voltage runs from the car to the bulb, its slightly off and causes it to blow.
a more permanent solution would be to get a HID kit for the fogs, and run some luminx vinyl over the bolb cover and you will get a bright yellow glow out of the fogs, and they will actually be usable as fogs.
usually you want something more around 4300K like stock for good light output. any high and you are going into the ultra violet range, where its going to be no use to use, especially as a fog. Especially as fogs if you go bright white and blue their going to be totally useless. you want a more yellow color with the fogs.

there is a flap in the plastic arch cover pull it from the bottom and it hinges upwards.
you then turn the plastic cap on the back of the fog light and pull it off.
pull the wire off the bulb,squeeze the top of the wire clip and pull back.
the bulb can be pulled out of the fog light and the new one inserted.
fitting is the reverse,it should only take you 10-20 minutes max.

i have a 2003 jeep liberty renegade. it has a light bar on top with 4 fog lights. the lights do not work. in the owners manual the fuse diagram has a fuse for the front fog lights(below the headlights) and for the rear headlights. There is not a fuse on the diagram for the light bar and i dont know what to do. How do i find the fuse? Or do i need to change the bulbs, because the button on the inside says that the lights are on when you press it but the lights do not turn on.

Hi, on most european car,the left lever is used for firstly cornering--- up and down for right and left cornering),----and secondly for headlights, dim for middle position, forward for full--used for highway/dark areas and backward for intermitent full headlights(Like a Signal) .
Now the knob situated at the end of the left lever have position 0, meaning no corner lamps and no dim/fog lights. Position 1(Turning once), meaning you can have only corner lamps front and rear one(including your rear number plate) and fog lights if you switch on the fog light switch(Normally situated on the dash board). Then position 2(Turning knob twice), will englobe position 1 function and main headlights(Dim if lever is in the middle...full if lever is pushed forward...and intermitent full if lever is pulled backward and released).
Now if you have switched on your headlights by turning the knob on your left twice, and that you are on idle speed or engine stopped, the light intensity will not be the same as when you are accelerating above 1000 rpm. Now, it is always advised to start the engine and then to switch on the headlights just to avoid draining energy from your battery uselessly.
If you have followed the steps and do not see any headlights or fog lights, this means that you must have either blow fuses, or bad relays...Now is everything lights and you are still not satisfied with your headlights, either take your car to an electrician for a general check on the state of your wiring and state of the headlights reflectors...and if everything is ok ,you can use special headlights bulbs(Xenox type) for better night vision.

Start the engine, and check the volt guage again: if it is 13-14, then it's a battery problem (1 or more dead cells). If it's below 13, then its an alternator problem.

Hi, on most european car,the left lever is used for firstly cornering--- up and down for right and left cornering),----and secondly for headlights, dim for middle position, forward for full--used for highway/dark areas and backward for intermitent full headlights(Like a Signal) .
Now the knob situated at the end of the left lever have position 0, meaning no corner lamps and no dim/fog lights. Position 1(Turning once), meaning you can have only corner lamps front and rear one(including your rear number plate) and fog lights if you switch on the fog light switch(Normally situated on the dash board). Then position 2(Turning knob twice), will englobe position 1 function and main headlights(Dim if lever is in the middle...full if lever is pushed forward...and intermitent full if lever is pulled backward and released).
Now if you have switched on your headlights by turning the knob on your left twice, and that you are on idle speed or engine stopped, the light intensity will not be the same as when you are accelerating above 1000 rpm. Now, it is always advised to start the engine and then to switch on the headlights just to avoid draining energy from your battery uselessly.
If you have followed the steps and do not see any headlights or fog lights, this means that you must have either blow fuses, or bad relays...Now is everything lights and you are still not satisfied with your headlights, either take your car to an electrician for a general check on the state of your wiring and state of the headlights reflectors...and if everything is ok ,you can use special headlights bulbs(Xenox type) for better night vision.

i have a 96 eclipse gst spyder and i put the front end of a 99 eclpse and i wanna hook up the fog lights that im going to order will they plug in or will i have to change the plug in's.

It would be easiest if the car was up in the air but you can also do it on the ground. Underneath the car behind the front bumper there is black plastic covering the engine area. Remove the plastic. You should now see the back of the fog light. Disconnect the wire that is connected to the bulb. Twist the bulb and pull out. Install new bulb and reconnect the wire. and install plastic cover.

They have been out since I purchased the vehicle back in March but am finally looking to get them working again. H1 bulbs correct? In addition to a how to, does anyone recommend a certain brand for longevity?

Yes it is an H1 bulb. We use Osram/Sylvania 64150 and have quite good life from them. To replace you will have to remove the plastic splash pans from under the front valance area, a series of 8mm headed screws. Then you will see the bottom of the fog / driving light housing. Remove the bulb cover cap and remove retainer to drop the bulb out. When installing the new bulb make very sure you DO NOT touch the glass portion of the bulb with your bare fingers. The oil from your fingers will burn into the glass and cause a hot spot that will cause premature failure of the bulb. This holds true for all Halogen bulbs no matter the application. Be careful with the bulb socket as it is aim-able and will break at its pivots if you force it into place. Hope this helps, Al.

jack the frontend of the car up and crawl underneath and there is a plastic shield that protects the fog light that has to be moved out of the way and then you can see what you have to do, the bulb just twists out of the light, just make sure you don't touch the new bulb when re-installing or it will burn out quicker.

I recently had a new battery installed in my car as well as a timing belt. 3 days later I noticed that one of the fog lights and headlights on the driver side were not working, I hadn't driven the car at night since the battery replacement. on most models you will have two 8mm headed bolts i believe both on the bottom of the light assembly remove them and pull the Assembly out then you can just remove the bulb by twisting it counter clock wise then reverse to reinstall

well im an american auto mechanic are you talking about the rear fog light check your fuses first always start simple to hard you can buy a simple volt meter it a fancy way of saying a light to see if you have power going to the socket if no power check fuse if fuse is good check wires you have an open somewhere sometimes the copper connectors in the socket will corode and no contact will be made if you need more help just e-mail me

By the time you find out whats wrong with it the Fog would have gone dont worry about fog lights some people dont even put there side or headlights on when the Weather gets bad they are suposed to by Law

If not, it is probably the fuse or the bulb.
Compare the lights at the side that you didn't change the indicator bulb on - it will show you where everything should go (it will probably be %26quot;the other way round%26quot;)

Why is my 2002 Hyundai Sonata keep blowing headlights/fog lights?
About once every 2-3 months I am changing some sort of light bulb on my car. It is either my headlight bulb, fog light bulb, or parking light bulb. About 3 or so weeks ago I replaced my passenger headlight bulb %26amp; drivers fog light bulb. This morning I get in my car and I now have my drivers side headlight out and the drivers side parking light. I love my car and NEVER had any issues other then this since I have owned the car with 89k+ miles and I bought her brand new. It is not under warranty anymore so that is why I am reaching out to my fellow yahooins :-)
Why is my 2002 Hyundai Sonata keep blowing headlights/fog lights?
One thing to consider, may be, that the bulbs you are buying, may be of a higher candle light power. Candle light refers to the intensity of the light, comming from the bulb. This term has been in use, since, the 1920's. The bulb or bulbs you buy, may look the same, but, may be higher in power, causing the wiring to get hot, thereby blowing your headlights. and, or foglamps. I have had this problem, myself. I tried untold numbers of headlights, and, foglamps, with no help, what so ever. Eventually, I had a friend,who, worked at the dealership, and, he told me, that certain items, like headlight bulbs, and, foglamp bulbs, and other special items, have to be bought right from the dealer, cause, these items, are made to fit, and work for your specific vehicle. He told me, that, the ones you buy at like Wal-Mart, and, the like, are no good... They work for a while, then, quit. They are just no good. He said, if they don't have the bulbs at the dealer, you should go to a autoparts store, like Carquest, Napa, Autozone,Advanced Auto, and, the like. Their bulbs are of a better quality, and, tthey last much longer. So, this I did, and, they are still in the vehicle, and, they have been in there, for two years, at least. No bulb will last forever, but, these come close. They cost a little more, but,in the long run, you are saving money, cause you aren't buying new ones, every 2-3 months. It has worked for me. With reguards to your car, you might want to consider looking into your fusebox,cause, somtimes, the more items, you have, on a fuse, can be a bit of a overload on that fuse. Something has to give. It has to either be the fuse, or, the headlight bulb, or, the foglamp bulb. Actually, the fuse should blow, before the headlight, or the foglamp, unless, the fuse for that item, has been replaced with a fuse, of a higher voltage, which, could be trouble. You see, a fuse is designed, to blow, incase of some kind of trouble, in your wiring system. Some people just replace the blown fuse, with one of a higher voltage. A fuse is actually rated, in, amps. Most popular are... 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and so on. Say, if you have a item, that, takes a 20 amp fuse, and, it blows, most people will just put in a 30 amp fuse, instead. By doing this, they are defeating the purpose. Rather than blowing the fuse, like it should, it allows the current to keep flowing, thereby, starting a fire, in the wiring, cause something is getting too hot. That is what the fuse is for... To stop power to the particular item. It is always best to find out as to exactly what is causing the blown fuse, rather than replace it with one, of a higher amp. Many car fires start out as a fuse, that was of the wrong amp. It is possible, that you may have a shot in your wiring system, as well. You will have to check for any possible grounded or short in the car's electrical wirings. Check the relays and fuses, a shorted relay most commonly burn out bulbs. One problem would be the car's alternator, charging way up than the required voltage it should charge your batteries. You will require a multi tester to know the exact voltage of your car's electrical system or bring it to an auto electrical shop.
I would find out if there is a short some where in the wiring harness, check fuses thats all i can think of other than a power surge, but your car is about to new for that, good luck

One thing to consider, may be, that the bulbs you are buying, may be of a higher candle light power. Candle light refers to the intensity of the light, comming from the bulb. This term has been in use, since, the 1920's. The bulb or bulbs you buy, may look the same, but, may be higher in power, causing the wiring to get hot, thereby blowing your headlights. and, or foglamps. I have had this problem, myself. I tried untold numbers of headlights, and, foglamps, with no help, what so ever. Eventually, I had a friend,who, worked at the dealership, and, he told me, that certain items, like headlight bulbs, and, foglamp bulbs, and other special items, have to be bought right from the dealer, cause, these items, are made to fit, and work for your specific vehicle. He told me, that, the ones you buy at like Wal-Mart, and, the like, are no good... They work for a while, then, quit. They are just no good. He said, if they don't have the bulbs at the dealer, you should go to a autoparts store, like Carquest, Napa, Autozone,Advanced Auto, and, the like. Their bulbs are of a better quality, and, tthey last much longer. So, this I did, and, they are still in the vehicle, and, they have been in there, for two years, at least. No bulb will last forever, but, these come close. They cost a little more, but,in the long run, you are saving money, cause you aren't buying new ones, every 2-3 months. It has worked for me. With reguards to your car, you might want to consider looking into your fusebox,cause, somtimes, the more items, you have, on a fuse, can be a bit of a overload on that fuse. Something has to give. It has to either be the fuse, or, the headlight bulb, or, the foglamp bulb. Actually, the fuse should blow, before the headlight, or the foglamp, unless, the fuse for that item, has been replaced with a fuse, of a higher voltage, which, could be trouble. You see, a fuse is designed, to blow, incase of some kind of trouble, in your wiring system. Some people just replace the blown fuse, with one of a higher voltage. A fuse is actually rated, in, amps. Most popular are... 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and so on. Say, if you have a item, that, takes a 20 amp fuse, and, it blows, most people will just put in a 30 amp fuse, instead. By doing this, they are defeating the purpose. Rather than blowing the fuse, like it should, it allows the current to keep flowing, thereby, starting a fire, in the wiring, cause something is getting too hot. That is what the fuse is for... To stop power to the particular item. It is always best to find out as to exactly what is causing the blown fuse, rather than replace it with one, of a higher amp. If they are like most factory installed fog lights, they are sealed and you can replace the bulb. You will have to replace the whole light. Better break into the savings because its a dealer item and you will be floored when you hear the price.

i have vectra w reg ls. ive been told they have pre installed wiring for front fogs i have changed the switch unit, fitted a relay and connected the fogs to the plugs in the bumper . but doesnt work doesnt seem to be any power at plugs that connect to fogs .? any ideas maybe im missing something?

There is a plastic flap on the inside of the wheel arch.Pull this open and you can get to the back of the fog lights.Pull the plug off the back of the light and undo the 3 nuts holding the light in place.The light then pulls backwards and out of the flap.The wheels have to be removed or put into full lock to do this.

on the bottom side of the car under the fog light area there will be an inspection cover. it is held in place by two plastic trim clips. they will have what looks like a philips head on the screw. remove both of these then pull out the retainer (they are set up like a dry wall anchor). pull back the cover and unplug the bulb. twist the bulb counter clock wise to remove. install in reverse order.creating file does any ram fit on my computer

Soon as the weather breaks, I'll go ahead and remove a small portion of the under-bumper cover and give it another try. Sounds a bit high, but it appears to be the variable average rate. Change bulbs on 2004 Corolla S OEM fog lights?
I have an '04 Corolla S with the type H3 fog lamps installed (standard). I can crawl under and twist the back off as you would a headlight, but it has a wire attached to the bulb (this type of bulb doesn't come out with the twist off connector). I can't see up there, but can feel around. Does anyone know how to remove the bulb attached to the fog light or how to pop out the entire fog light?

I want to change my 03 hyundai tiburon fog lights to a pink color. Do i HAVE to get HID's?
is there a regular pink bulb available ? and if so where can i buy one ? I really dont want to set up another pair of HID%26#039;s and ballast%26#039;s for my fog lights and i heard that I can just get a pink bulb but i searched ebay and im still confused ! help please :)|||There are pink bulbs, but it%26#039;s ILLEGAL to have them on when your on public roads, just so you know.

Put the steering on full lock one way or the other, undo the torx screws holding the plastic wheelarch liner in (just the front ones) then flex the wheelarch liner out of the way. This usually gives enough access to the back of the foglight to change the bulb. The back cover of the foglight should undo anti clockwise, then replace bulb and reassemble. Remember, don%26#039;t touch the glass when you handle the bulb as this can cause premature failure. Good Luck!!!|||do you have a manual with the car

I saw some Projector Fog Lights at autozone for like $40 and iam thinking of buying those and changing the bulb to the yellow ones(i found on ebay). How do I change my 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 fog lights?
I%26#039;ve already got the replacement part (the whole assembly, not just a bulb), but I can%26#039;t figure out how to get the old piece out to get the new one in. The whole things seems to be encased in the vehicle. I%26#039;ve looked from the bottom and as much as I can from the top (under the hood) and I can see a wingnut type screw that I could probably loosen. But will this allow me to pull the light assemble out through the front so that I will be able to reconnect the wires to the new one?

If I were to go get and oil change at any auto shop, and asked if they can replace my fog lights with the bulbs I%26#039;ve already purchased from somewhere else. Would they charge me extra or does it count towards the labor charge they already charge you?|||If you take the car to a repair shop to have the fog lights replaced, they will charge for the labor off putting the fog lights in. So yes it will be extra. Not sure what type of car you have but replacing the fog lights bulbs is easy.

pop the hood. take off the back plastic piece(s) from behind the headlight. it%26#039;s usually just a wing nut, phillips-head screw, or even just plastic clips. be careful to pull it off slow, but more careful putting it back in slowly with the new bulb. and don%26#039;t touch the bulbs with your bare hands, because oil from hands is bad for the lights, and might shorten the life.

them make sure you unbolt the mounting screws .. NOT the adjustment screws for the fog-light aim ;)|||Headlights in the pic are the euro codes. Has city lights in the high beam, keeps the turn signals off when you turn the light switch to parking lights. Turn sig/side marker stays off when the headlights are on. Looks cleaner without the crap orange side reflector the US version is required to have.

them make sure you unbolt the mounting screws .. NOT the adjustment screws for the fog-light aim ;)|||Headlights in the pic are the euro codes. Has city lights in the high beam, keeps the turn signals off when you turn the light switch to parking lights. Turn sig/side marker stays off when the headlights are on. Looks cleaner without the crap orange side reflector the US version is required to have.

Instructions on how to replace 2001 BMW 318i E46 rear Fog Lights?
I was wondering if anyone can give me detailed instructions on how to change the rear fog lights of my 2001 BMW 318i E46.
If you cannot explain in detail, instructions of how to remove the cover to access the bulb would be greatly appreciated. (I know how to change/access the brake lights etc but the fog lights are not together with this part)

Changing fog light bulb on 2003 sonata?
Should the bulb just pull out or do i have to remove screws. Its in a bad location cant really see it. Any help would be great|||There is a back cover - you need to unscrew it which is about a third of a turn and it comes out. Then a metal clip holds the bulb in. Thats it!

How do i change the fog lights in 2003 pontiac grand prix Gt?
Raise and support the vehicle.
Remove the front fog lamp nuts from the fog lamp.
Remove the fog lamp from the front bumper fascia.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the fog lamp bulb/socket.
Remove the fog lamp bulb/socket from the fog lamp, turning counterclockwise, if required.
Installation Procedure
Install the fog lamp bulb/socket to the fog lamp, turning clockwise, if required.
Connect the electrical connector to the fog lamp bulb/socket.
Install the fog lamp to the front bumper fascia.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location.
Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Install the front fog lamp nuts to the fog lamp.
Tighten
Tighten the front fog lamp nuts to 10 Nè·¯m (89 lb in).
Lower the vehicle.
Check and adjust the front fog lamp aim as necessary.|||I beleive it comes aparte from behind the lower part of the bumper, like mine do.

Considering you haven;t changed it in 3 years, the bold is probably rusty and its going to be a pain to take out, put some WD 40 or some other bolt lube on it and let it sit for a little.

How do you change the fog lights on a 2006 dodge charger?
I have a 2006 dodge charger and don%26#039;t wanna take it to the dealer just to change out a bulb in the fog lights|||The best way to do it is to take out a few of the push pins out of the bottom closeout panel and try to get to it from the bottom side. You should be able to get your hand in there by pulling down on the plastic after you have taken out the pins. The bulb should be turned counterclockwise and pulled straight out.
To remove the lens the dodge service info tells you to remove the upper closeout panel, headlight, and most of the front bumper fascia.

I ordered new xenon bright lights to match the angel eyes i got and theres a problem...i dont know how to change the fog lights on my 2007 bmw 530i (e60) please help. pictures would help|||You are talking of 2 different things:
a) xenon lights to match the angel eyes
b) changing the foglight (bulbs) or the foglight assembly itself
I hope that you do not mean to put xenon HID%26#039;s on the foglight. While
I have seen it done, most do not last since the control modules, and
ignitors have to be placed near the foglight itself for obvious reasons,
and this location is so prone to road damage/bumper scrapes/etc.
Changing the foglight halogen bulbs or assembly can be done in 2 ways:
a) from the back of the lights, infront of the tire, remove the small
screws holding the fender liner/splashshields, then pull the liner
back a little to access the foglight, detach the wire/connector,
twist off the bulb and replace
b) or easier, at least for me, infront of the bumper, pry off the black
plastic trim/cover of the foglight, remove the single screw holding
the assembly, pull out, detach the wire connector, then replace
either the bulb or the whole assembly.
If you really want to install HID%26#039;s in your foglights, then there is no other way than to detach a sizable portion of the splash shield to be able to install the control module and ignitor in between the fender liner and the bumper.|||Can%26#039;t give you a picture but the bulbs are taken out of the back of the lamp. You%26#039;ll need to twist them out.

plastic trim/cover of the foglight, remove the single screw holding
the assembly, pull out, detach the wire connector, then replace
either the bulb or the whole assembly.
If you really want to install HID%26#039;s in your foglights, then there is no other way than to detach a sizable portion of the splash shield to be able to install the control module and ignitor in between the fender liner and the bumper.|||Can%26#039;t give you a picture but the bulbs are taken out of the back of the lamp. You%26#039;ll need to twist them out.

Are changing the color of your fog lights illegal in Pennsylvania?
i wanted to change mine to red but this guy at an auto store said it was illegal.|||gee-law enforcement uses red...i wonder|||no|||Any color used by law enforcement is illegal.|||yup most places about the us unless you are voluteer fireman or such blue lights and red lights are definitely off limits to non law enforcement,or civilian use. yellow flashers could also be mistaken as emergency vehicle of sorts and possibly get you into a jam, it depends on hoe they%26#039;re being used.|||Fog lights may only be white or yellow, You may never put a red light of any kind in the front or side..Emergency Vihicles only may have it...Your friend from Tennessee...ROB|||Any mod that makes it look like you%26#039;ve got tail lights on the front of your car is an extremely bad idea. I think it%26#039;s actually a federal law against forward-facing red lights except for emergency lights.
